For-Charity Zine
While we are working on determining the final product considerations for this project, we preferably want this zine to be a for-charity project. If we earn enough interest to make physical copy sales or do digital sales, our project will first use any profits to cover up to a free full bundle for each contributor; any profits remaining after that will be donated to the ALA: American Library Association. 1. What is this zine?
A zine dedicated to RadioApple/AppleRadio genre-based literature written by members of the RadioApple Library Server and featuring collaborative artwork from artists both inside and outside the server. This zine will focus on the romantic/sexual relationship between Alastor and Lucifer from Hazbin Hotel.2. Who can contribute?
Writers: Members of the RadioApple Library Server (prior to June 30, 2026) and who are 18 years or older.
Artists: Priority will go to members of the RadioApple Library Server (prior to June 30, 2026) and who are 18 years or older. The remaining artists spots will go to outside artists selected after writer’s recommendation or the application process and who are 18 years or older.3. How many contributors will be accepted?
While final numbers may vary based on the interest check and applications, we aim to accept enough artists to match with each writer who signs up from the server. Our hope is to have at least 10-25 writers from the server and 10-25 artists from both inside and outside the server to participate within the zine.Writers will automatically be accepted when they apply as the zine is intended to showcase the work of the server's writing members.Artists who are members of the server will also automatically get in and have priority matching over external applicants. Some artists outside of server membership may be declined if there are not enough writers to match with artists.4. What will artists be doing in the zine?
There are 4 possible positions within the zine for artists:
1 Cover Artist (selected by the Mods via applications)
Page Artists - these artists will be matched with a writer to draw the “book cover” of their story. This is a collaborative effort between writers and artists.
Merch Artists - will make the physical and/or digital merch for the zine (the total number of Merch Artists accepted will be determined after Interest Checks are complete).
Graphic Novelist - This is where an artist (priority given to a member of the RadioApple Library Server) will create a story in a comic or manga style 3-5 pages long. Artists can choose to work with a writer if they wish, but specifically for this genre, it is the choice of the artist to collaborate or not (the total number of Graphic Novelists accepted will be determined after Interest Checks are complete).For more information, please see the Contributor Guide tab within the Guidelines.5. Will this zine be physical or digital?
This zine aims to have a physically printed paperback novel! However, final determination will be based on cost, potential page count, and results from the interest check.Regardless of those results, the zine will be made available digitally, but an interest check will determine if it will be an “at cost-for-charity” zine or a free digital zine.6. Will this zine have merch?
This zine aims to have physical and digital merch if we go to full sales. However, if we do physical merch, we will be making mostly print based merch like bookmarks, prints, stickers, and trading cards with the exception of 1 charm and/or 1 small standee if interest checks show positive results. We do not wish to go into high volumes of merch or more elaborate merch options like enamel pins or large standees. This is to help keep costs down and production quicker and increase our chances of making a profit for contributor compensation and a donation to our charity of choice.7. Will this zine be for-profit or for-charity?
Preferably, we want this zine to be a for-charity project. If we earn enough interest to make physical copy sales or do digital sales, our project will first use any profits to cover up to a free full bundle for each contributor; any profits remaining after that will be donated to the ALA: American Library Association. If we are able to go into sales for the zine, we strive to earn enough profit to give all contributors a full digital and physical bundle. However, if we do not go into sales, every contributor will gain access to a full digital bundle and then be given a template to order their own personal copy of a physical zine completely laid out with instructions on how to print it.Profits not spent on item compensation will be donated to our chosen charity ALA: American Library Association through one of their many branches of donation options. A full breakdown of compensation tiers will be available upon acceptance to the project.9. What is this zine’s rating?
This zine is rated E - Explicit by AO3 guidelines. While not every story is required to be graphic or sexual in nature, we would like to allow our contributors to explore topics within the Explicit rating. This includes: sex, graphic violence, topics typically/often discussed within the Hellaverse, some types of Dead Dove: Do Not Eat, etc… However, due to the nature of this being an open publication, we will NOT allow the following topics: rape (can be hinted at but not explicitly shown for other relationships outside of the main ship), non-consentual acts (especially between our main couple), zoophilia, pedophilia, incest, or any other topics deemed unacceptable that could be categorized under the heavier aspects of Dead Dove: Do Not Eat, by the Mod Team. If you have any questions, please contact a Mod to get clarification on any specific topics.When the zine is published, each story will include the RATING and any TRIGGER WARNINGS underneath the title of the fic to assist with the reader's experience.10. Will other ships be allowed?
The main focus of any piece should be RadioApple/AppleRadio. We will NOT allow any other characters to be mixed in with Alastor or Lucifer as the CURRENT relationship. We will allow hinting of previous relationships that are no longer together (i.e. Lucifer and Lilith or Alastor and Vox are common) and other ships as side stories/characters (i.e. Charlie and Vaggi, Angel Dust and Husk, Niffty and Baxter, etc…). Regardless, the focus of the fic must be between Alastor and Lucifer.11. Can zine pieces focus on canon and alternative universes (AUs)?
Yes! Since the theme of the zine is to explore stories via different literary genres, it will naturally open the door to writing/drawing Alternative Universes. We encourage writers/artists to explore whatever story comes to them via their assigned genre.12. What do you mean by “literary genres”?
When applying, writers/artists will be asked to choose between the following genres:
Realistic Fiction
Romance
Fantasy
Horror
Mystery/Thriller
Sci-Fi/Dystopia
Historical Fiction
Action/Adventure
Graphic NovelsMods will be making final decisions on who gets matched with which genre, but writers/artists will be able to indicate their top 4 genres to write/draw for during the application process. Contributors DO NOT have to have solid ideas during the application process, simply indicate your preferred genre to work with.For more information about the genres, please visit the Genre Information tab within the Guidelines.13. What is the Mentorship Program?
Within the RadioApple Library Server, we have started a Mentorship Program where writers seeking to improve their skills are matched with an experienced writer to learn more about the writing process and how to improve their skills. This zine is an extension of this program and both mentors and mentees can continue their work in the zine, as well as receive direct feedback an advice on their zine application portfolio.Our Mentorship Mod, FurbanLegend, will continue her work with the program within the zine. Additionally, Jr. Mods will be accepted to learn more about zine and project making, as shown by example within the Leadership team via Artemis, our Jr. Lead, learning how to make a zine as a lead with her mentor, Luna, one of our Project Leads.
